"We decided to pick Isabella for this award because she is an amazing leader and has preserved an outstanding GPA," principal Stephen Kane explains.
Poveda's english teacher, Mrs. Brown, feels as if she has most definitely deserved this award. "She is truly a bright student with a bright future," she says.
To achieve the title of student of the month, the teenager must exhibit true dedication and tenacity through their classes and hobbies.

Poveda believes that she truly deserved to win and was extremely excited to find out that she accomplished her goal.
She mentions, "I always strive to do my best."

"I feel as if this award will be an amazing thing to add to her college applications," she vocalizes.
Even though Poveda has recieved congratulations from many teachers, a few students have become a bit jealous of her.
"Some students have been treating me badly," she mentions.
However, her friends have been quite supportive of her for winning this award.
"I even gave her a cupcake for winning this," explains Alissa Burnham, Poveda's best friend.
Despite hate she's been recieving, Poveda strives to stay as an outstanding student.
"Im going to maintain my straight A's and go to a great college," she concludes.
